Fast ForWord to Reading 2 series of exercises that consolidates early reading skills with a focus on applying phonics and decoding strategies. The program consolidates early reading skills, with a focus on applying phonics and decoding strategies, improving word recognition, and understanding the rules for reading comprehension.
It improves word reading and comprehension for easily decodable words and high frequency words. As the cognitive skills of memory, attention, processing, and sequencing are further developed, your student will gain a better understanding of the rules for reading comprehension.
Fast ForWord Reading 2 consists of six exercises:
Ant Antics
Professor Anteater invites students to develop critical reading and sentence comprehension by asking them to match pictures to their descriptive titles. |

Bear Bags: More Lunch
Students are asked to help Papa Bear make more lunch by sorting the words into the appropriate phoneme-based categories. This exercise uses initial consonants, and short vowels to long vowels, using high frequency decodable words. |

Dog Bone
Amid the excitement of a game show, students improve listening and reading comprehension as they read pages of text or graphs and answer comprehension questions. Uses grade 1-3 level of fiction and nonfiction passages.

Fish Frenzy
Students develop decoding skills and auditory memory as they catch the fish with the word that matches the target word. This exercise uses the top 400 high frequency words from the Francis & Kucera norms and Reading Teacher’s Book of Lists, plus all K-3 grade level Dolch sight words. |

Leaping Lizards
Friendly Lizards help students improve sentence comprehension and vocabulary. This exercise builds vocabulary, punctuation and capitalisation skills, as well as word morphology, prefixes and suffixes. |

Magic Bird
The magic bird presents words with missing beginnings and ends. Students select the missing parts from the options shown by the magician. The exercises develop spelling and sound-letter correspondence. |
