| When we started the Fast ForWord program it was very clear that there were simple verbal commands she just couldn't master. She was not processing the language properly. Fast ForWord taught her how to differentiate between different phonemes and other speech patterns. Her improvement over six weeks was astronomical. Her reading and ability to understand verbal instructions has greatly improved and her confidence has been boosted. |

23 August, 2006 Scientific Learning Co-Founder Discusses Dyslexia and Learning Disability Findings Paula Tallal, Ph.D., a co-founder of Scientific Learning Corp. (NASDAQ: SCIL), presented a plenary address at the International Neurological Society's mid-year meeting in Zurich, Switzerland.
Dr. Tallal's talk, entitled "Rehabilitation of Dyslexia and Learning Disabilities," focused on her research findings in dyslexia and learning disabilities ranging from theory to rehabilitation. She was the first of three plenary speakers at the event. "I was very pleased to be invited as a plenary speaker, as this is an extremely prestigious event that attracts the best and the brightest in the international neuropsychology community," said Dr. Tallal. The conference chair, Dr. Lutz Jaencke, a professor in the Department of Psychology's Division of Neuropsychology at the University of Zurich, considered Dr. Tallal's talk a highlight of the conference. "We are proud that Dr. Tallal has presented her distinguished research and insights to this high-caliber group of scientists," said Robert C. Bowen, Chairman and CEO of Scientific Learning. Dr. Tallal's plenary speech was given on July 27th as part of the International Neuropsychological Society's mid-year meeting, held July 26-29 in Zurich, Switzerland. Approximately 1,000 neuroscientists attended the four-day event. |
