Literacy Advanced

Description:

Specifically developed for adolescents and young adult, Literacy Advanced is a series of computer-delivered, neuroscience based exercises for adolescents and adults who are struggling with reading and need to develop the cognitive skills necessary to become better readers.

Literacy Advanced is the companion to Fast ForWord Middle & High School. It continues building a strong foundation of fundamental cognitive skills in the context of language and reading skills.

Ages: 12 years and above

Exercises:

  • Builds memory skills through exercises that task both working and long-term memory.
  • Improves concentration and ability to focus attention and ignore distractions through highly demanding sustained attention tasks.
  • Develops auditory, visual and linguistic processing of orally presented words, sentences and stories for meaning and comprehension
  • Develops sequencing skills through exercises that require utilisation of word order to comprehend complex statements, to understand multi-step instructions and then respond following a specified sequence of actions.
  • Builds learning capacity 
  • Schedule:   Students using Fast ForWord Literacy Advanced follow one of two intensive schedules:

    •    50 minutes each day, five days a week, for  8 - 12 weeks  OR
    •    90 minutes each day, five days a week, for  4 - 8 weeks
